We spent 15 days with Ragulan driving all over Sri Lanka - north to Jaffna, then south to Weligama, and back to the airport.
Ragulan is a good driver who knows how to drive well, and safely, on the roads (navigating around tuktuks, motorbikes, trucks and cows). His vehicle is well maintained and was spotless every morning (he vacuums it each and every day). And, Ragulan was on time, if not 5-15 minutes early, when we needed him.
Speaking both Tamil and Sinhalese, made it easy for him to navigate and help us along the way. In particular, he understood the challenges one of our party faced with mobility, so would help coordinate additional support so we could visit the sites we wanted.
He always had great places to stop with food (both Sri Lankan and Western) and bathrooms. And, he was able to answer questions and make recommendations to us.

We were truly impressed by Ragulan from Shan Travels. He is friendly and genuinely cares for his customers. A few weeks ago, we travelled with him in his clean and comfortable van from Colombo to Jaffna. Ragulan is a careful driver and is knowledgeable about the road network as well as places of interest along the way. He also knows convenient and clean rest stops, cafes, and restaurants that offer delicious food.
Ragulan is an excellent communicator; he speaks English, Sinhala, and Tamil fluently. Overall, he made our journey enjoyable, safe, and comfortable.
